PRAYERS

Welcome to this site. My prayer is that you take a look at the site and as you do, let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart and reveal what God wants you to discover. (in Jesus' name)

God tells us that if we see a brother (or sister) in need we should do that which is within our means to help. Prayer is always within our means but we never know what doors Father may open through them. Should you desire prayer for anything (healing, direction, etc.) or if you want supportive prayer along with your own please feel free to e-mail that request to sharbu3@gmail.com and be assured that there are others who will be praying with or for you.

In this blog, I share what the Lord shares with me. I reference scripture a lot in support of what is being said. I realize that what is in each entry is NOT a complete 'word' (discussion) on what is being said, but is rather enough information to stimulate our spirits to dig deeper (remember the Bereans Acts 17:10-11) thereby gaining a fuller understanding for ourselves.

At the end of each post are the options to share, forward or make a comment. Click 'comment' to respond. Let us know if you like, don't like or are helped by what you read. Comments can be made or read by anyone. All you have to do is select the "comment" at he end of the entry.
I also reference Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible with Hebrew and Greek dictionaries (Thomas Nelson Publisher) for Greek and Hebrew word meanings.

10-17-2026         The Harvest

I attend Wellspring of Life FWC in Hagerstown, Md.  For the past year, and then some, our pastor has been focusing on resolving of old business, solidifying our relationship with tkhe Lord, shedding unnecessary baggage and focusing in on the direction Father is taking us – individually and as a fellowship.

Taking care of business

We need to re-evaluate where our lives are today.  Have we become comfortable in our relationship with the Lord, that is, slowed down our own Spiritual growth?  Not praying as we have been accustomed.  Paul encourages us to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:16-18), that is praying with the same intensity or frequency that has helped us get this far?  That doesn’t mean we have to be on our knees 24/7, but we should have a prayerful attitude throughout the day and our prayer should be meaningful.  Do we seek God’s direction on things that crop up during the day, then hear and follow what the Holy Ghost says?  Jesus says that the Holy Ghost is in us to give us comfort (John 14:15-18) and that means that He is ‘in us’, not just ‘with us’!  The Holy Ghost will give us guidance and direction (Luke 12:11-12, John 16:13-14).  The Holy Ghost will give us what we need!  All we have to do is ask, listen, then be obedient to what He says!  Do we recognize and appreciate what Father does for us on a daily basis?  We always remember the BIG things, but what about the little things?

Have we slacked off reading the scriptures?  Paul encourages us to renew our minds daily (Rom. 12:2).  When we read the bible, we should be asking the Holy Ghost to show us and teach us what we need to know, that is how to better understand the passage we are reading (1 Corinth. 12:12-16).  The bible is God’s love story to us.  The Ten Commandments (Exod. 20:3-17), are not just God’s commands for living a good life, but they are a very basic explanation of how we can repay God for His loving us.  First we need to discover and admit just who God is and that He deserves our utmost attention and devotion.  We love Him with all our heart, mind, soul and spirit (Mark 12:30).  The other nine commandments are a brief explanation for how we can do that (Mark 12:31.  Being an extension of God’s love, we first express our love towards God, then we express that love towards those with whom we come in contact.  A gentle reminder is to honor mom and dad, don’t forget the Sabbath don’t lie, cheat, steal or kill, etc.  From Genesis to Revelation, the bible is filled with how we can love God BUT also shows us how God loves us!  A mountain of love (the bible), all we have to do is ask God and the Holy Ghost will show us and teach us.  Jesus says that there is no greater display of love than a man give his life for his friends (John 15:13).  Jesus went to the cross, giving His life to cover our sins. He took the punishment for our sins so we wouldn’t have to bear them (Rom. 5:8, 1 Peter 3:18).  And Jesus says that if we are obedient to His commands, we are His friends (John 15:14).

The scriptures show us to live as Jesus lived land Jesus’ life is love personified!  Father has given us so many examples of His love in the bible.  The Apostle Paul tells us to follow his example as he follows Christ (1 Corinth. 11:1).  Should we do any less?

Father tells us that He puts our sin behind His back and casts them into the sea (Isa. 38:17, Micah 7:19).  That is, when we truly confess our sins, Father is faithful to cast them aside and forget them.  How many sins do we ’hang on to’ after we confess them to the lord, that is from our heart and not ‘just’ lip service?  Since God forgets our sin, who are we to keep remembering them?  Understand that Satan loves to remind us of our wrongdoing.  His job is to steal, kill and destroy our lives or at least our testimony.  But Jesus gives us life and more abundantly John 10:10) so we can overcome the tempter’s snares.

In a similar manner, how many things do we hang onto which just don’t benefit us anymore (Heb. 12:1)?  As we reach for our goals in Christ Jesus, set those things behind us which are no longer productive so we may attain the results Father intends (Phil. 3:11-14).  Do we shackle ourselves with burdens which are just excess baggage, no longer necessary? The devil will do anything to hinder our growth (1 Peter 5:8).

This is the season where we should be taking a fresh, Spiritual, look at who we are, where we are and where we are going.  As I said “We may need to re-evaluate our goals.”  Are they still in line with Father’s will for us?  Have we, or are we just now discovering what God’s will is for us?  Have we asked Father “Why am I here?”  We all have a responsibility to share the relationship we have with the Father.  As a new Christian, all that we may be able to share is that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and I now we do best to live for Him.  That it our testimony and it is a form of evangelism – to share what we have in the Lord with others. How much have I grown in the Lord?  Have my responsibilities changed or grown deeper in the Lord?  We can always share what Father has done for us with those whom we encounter.  Sharing our love of God with others is being obedient to God.

Hearing God and following His directions for our life is our obedience. Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Sam. 15:22).   In other words, doing things for the Lord is always good but when we do things for the wrong reasons, are we any better than clanging cymbals!  When we do things to please God because we expect some great reward?   Do we really receive His blessings because of who we are or do we desire to imitate Him by abiding in His love (Eph. 5:1-2).

Our goal should be serving the Lord first and foremost.  We serve because we love the Lord, not  because we expect to get rewards.  When we are expecting rewards, we are expecting people to acknowledge what we have done, getting that pat on the back or the ‘gold’ trophy.  That pat on the back may be the only reward we receive.  God knows our heart () so as we receive compliments from man from what we have done from our heart, we give God the praise.  That’s why Herod had that bad experience.  Herod gave a big speech before the people and the people declared that he had the voice of a god. Herod did not give God the glory so an angel killed Herod (Acts 12:21-23).  Do we do things to attain personal glory or to please God?  I’m not saying that we can’t say ‘thank you’ but I am saying is let people know from where your power and strength has come.

Amen
